MASA started in 2008 with a three-year grant and supported 68 students. Now we have over 300! Please help us continue the success of this program. We are asking for your support in three ways.
- Donations: You can support us via a tax-deductible donation through PayPal or through mailing us a contribution. Checks, for a tax-deductible donation, can be made out to MHS MASA Boosters and mailed to the P.O. Box 1887, Monrovia, CA 91017. Donations are also accepted via Paypal using the link on the left of this website.
- Grants: We welcome grants from funds and organizations, as well as connections to new partnership opportunities. If you are a grant writer or know of a grant that would be applicable to our program, please contact us.
- Employers and Businesses: If your business or employer has an employee matching donation program please let us know. We also welcome financial and volunteer support from businesses interested in outreach in the community.
The MHS Math and Science Academy Boosters was formed to support the Math and Science Academy and raise money to keep these great programs going for our students. We strive to ensure that MASA can thrive even when budgets are tight.
Since its inception ten years ago, Monrovia High School’s Math and Science Academy has grown to more than 335 students. Enrollment in Advanced Placement (AP) science and math classes has more than doubled, with full classes of AP Statistics and AP Calculus being offered every year instead of every other year. Thanks to MASA, there are now many more students involved in science related-clubs and teams at Monrovia High, such as Robotics, Rocketry, Astronomy, and Math and Science Club. Many MASA students had the opportunity to enroll in pre-AP chemistry over the summer, with demand exceeding available seats.
